March Full Moon Greetings

When I sat down to write my full moon greeting last month my attention turned to the rain. And again, this month, my ears catch the sound of heavy drops pounding my windows... only this time, they are new windows. Yes, I've moved. I'm still in Rockridge, just a few blocks from my old location, now at the crossroads of College and Claremont in Oakland.

I am at home at the crossroads. It is the substance of my lifework. As a transformative coach, I greet people at their personal and professional crossroads and companion them in their choice-making. Turn left? Turn right? Pause? Carry forward? Run? Turn back?

Many of the people I work with carry fear about making the wrong choice, which often shows up as obsession about making the right choice. I have observed that most people, somewhere deep inside, have already made the choice they are going to make. There's just a delay in awareness about it or a resistance to the outcomes the choice entails. Together, we look at what's really there in that inside place and discover if the hidden choice can be accepted. It takes the pressure off to remember that you can choose again. And again.

If you've been procrastinating on a decision, take note that refusing to make a choice is still a choice. You can sit at the crossroads as long as you like. But that won't make the traffic stop. The world carries on.

And as the world carries on, what is your intention for it at this time of global crossroads? Is there some small (or large) choice you can make, action you can take to bring about the world you dream of? Would that be a prayer for the people of Japan? A donation? Could it be a letter to your local politician about your stand on nuclear power? Or informing yourself of what's happening in Libya right now?

You've read the bumper sticker: "Think globally. Act locally." Our daily choices, our little actions - they do add up. The choices you make have impact. You — and what you do — matter.

May the Full Moon on this Spring Equinox inspire you in your choice-making. Choose YOU!
