November Full(ish) Moon Greetings

November Full(ish) Moon Greetings...

This month's full moon greeting comes to you deliberately delayed a day so it could accompany an 11:11:11 missive.

What's the 11:11 hoo-ha all about? For me, it's about symbolism of noteworthiness and the human drive for meaning-making. Say what? Let me explain.

To me, 11:11:11 is intriguing because of its relative uniqueness as a once-in-a-century date and for its visual symmetry.

About its symmetry: The repetition of the same number multiple times is an interesting design motif. It also reads like a code. The notions of both design and code suggest thoughtfulness at work. The idea of thoughtfulness at work in (or behind) the world evokes the Mystery we call God, Goddess, the Tao, Great Spirit and many other names.

About its uniqueness: Special days are special because they're... special. They don't happen every day. A birthday happens only once a year. That's special. 11:11:11 happens once every hundred years. That's extra special.

A date that's both special and mysterious is ripe with opportunities for making meaning. And that is exactly what human beings excel at. Making meaning.

Forget what you found on Google about it. What meaning do you make of this noteworthy number?

11:11:11 is like the four-leaf clover of the Gregorian calendar. It is rare and evocative of magical possibility.

To some, a four-leaf clover is simply an unusual member of the Trifolium genus of plant. To others, the four-leaf clover is a lucky talisman, a symbol, a portal to another world where there's a leprechaun with a pot of gold waiting for you to make a wish.

You probably make a wish on your birthday. Go ahead. Make an even bigger one today.
